Weston College
Weston College is a delivery partner for the Constructing Lives Together Hub in North Somerset, utilising our state-of-the-art facilities to provide a realistic working environment for our learners, with our onsite CSCS Test Suite we are able to provide the full package in one location.
What support or training is Weston College providing through CLT?
The Constructing Lives Together offer is varied, we can offer as little as Health and Safety and your CSCS card, through to a COTS (Scaffolding qualification) Level 1 and plant licences. We run a variety of programs that are linked to real jobs with employers offering a on-sit experience opportunity.
What has been the impact of CLT on your employers and learners to date?
We have not only supported learners into sustainable work, which has improved their personal circumstances we have supported employers locally to fill their vacancies with local residents they might not have met without Constructing Lives Together.

Bath College
Bath College is a further education college in the centre of Bath, Somerset and in Westfield, Somerset, England. It was formed in April 2015 by the merger of City of Bath College and Norton Radstock College. The College also offers Higher Education courses and has its own Undergraduate building.
What support or training is Weston College providing through CLT?
We provide a 9 day course run each month at both the Bath city centre and Radstock campuses. The course covers an employability day, employer interviews, elearning modules related to construction, Level 1 health and Safety in construction, onsite experience, practical days at our Radstock Construction centre and theory towards cscs with an exam on the last day. We provide all learners with help with their cv if needed, source jobs and pay for their cscs green card.
What has been the impact of CLT on your employers and learners to date?
We have had good outcomes on all our courses to date and a lot of passers have moved into employment this has impacted on their health and wellbeing, confidence and finances in a positive way. We have supported employers and recruitment agencies in contributing to their work force.

After coming out of the treatment programme Peter wanted to help other people struggling in similar situations and took a job as a Key Worker, but Peter wanted more hours and structure so decided that he wanted to go back into the construction industry.
P started our Constructing Lives Together program in September, at this point P had been out of work for 9 months and attended our Employability training, followed by our CSCS training, which he successfully completed.
Peter has gone on to secure employment with a local firm working as a labourer. Peter contacted us after the program to share the following feedback:

Train4All Limited was set up in February 2008 to provide quality construction training for learners within the local area of South Somerset that found it unviable to travel to local colleges or did not want to be taught in a large FE setting.

What has been the impact of CLT on your employers and learners to date?
Learners – Gaining the confidence, having an up to date CV, gaining a level 1 health and safety qualification and a CSCS card which enables them to gain employment. The practical side has given them skills in labouring, ratio, working safely on site, gaining valuable work experience on a live construction site.

GREENLIGHT TRAINING
What support or training is Weston College providing through CLT?
We are delivering a 5 consecutive day construction training and employment program which includes 3 days of workshop training and 2 days of H&S and employability training. We structure our CLT courses to directly feed into our live employer vacancies we have through our apprenticeships.
What has been the impact of CLT on your employers and learners to date?
The course has enabled us to give our rear world experience of the sector and install skills and knowledge into the learners which in hand, installs confidence in our employers. The course has been a huge success with our employers and they are now starting to only request learners who have come through the program.
